Google Trends

Another day, another google product beta, but this one is quite interesting. It allows you to see search traffic for a particular term or terms over the last two years, and even adds links to news events that could have affected search behavior. For instance, notice the spikes for my university after sporting events, as indicated by the letters below.

Unfortunately, the vertical access of the graph doesn’t have a scale as that’s probably more information than google is willing to reveal so the service is most useful for relative comparisons over time. Regardless, I definitely plan on using it more, good job google!
