Vista SP1 - Beware of Risky Dating
It was so much fun to start, and the allure of new and improved was just driving me wild, so I agreed to a night out on the town with Vista SP1. Only to wake up in a strange bed, with a huge headache and soreness in all the wrong places. While I’m sure Vista SP1 is off wooing another gullible technofreak, I’ve had enough!
Unfortunately, my Vista SP1 install lasted all of about 10 minutes. Upon reboot I noticed the most pointer wouldn’t stop flickering between the ready and waiting pointers, so I went to file a bug report. Lo and behold, but the bug reporting tool won’t install. Chuckling to myself that Microsoft can’t even write a bug free bug reporting tool, I go to remove SP1 and discover that my control panel is empty. Danger Drew Robinson! Safe-mode proved just the comforting and understanding shoulder I needed, and I’m trying to learn to enjoy smiling again, post Vista SP1.

Now Vista SP1 just won’t stop calling!
Yeah, I was aware it was an RC, figured they were pretty close but guess I was wrong. As a laptop user I’m a victim of several of the big issues SP1 is supposed to fix but perhaps I was a bit over-anxious in installing it. Unfortunately, the uninstall still has some bugs as well, as I’ve been having some weird new issues since. Good thing I was planning on a reinstall next week!
