Rinsed Butter

The butter making was a success! Taking the cream from the raw milk I picked up earlier today I threw it into the blender and a few short minutes later had frothy buttery chunks floating in buttermilk. After pouring off the buttermilk and rinsing the butter we had a decent dollop of mild butter.

In the future I think I’d like to improve my rinsing and pressing technique, and after I’m a little more trusting of my raw milk source I might try aging the cream to give the butter a stronger flavor.

A fun project that only took part of an evening!
