MoveOn.org has a cute little website up, The Bush-McCain Challenge, challenging visitors to distinguish between Bush and McCain. Unfortunately, I’m having trouble distinguishing the site from deliberately misleading malicious propaganda. While I’m normally a big fan of what MoveOn does, and have signed many of their petitions, in this case they stretched the truth completely beyond recognition by labeling my 20-round .22 magazine, and the collapsible rifle stock I’d like to get for my .22, components of an “assault weapon”. There’s a reason the expiration of the oh-so-inappropriately-named “assault weapon ban” had bi-partisan support. It was a “feel-good” meaningless political gesture from the start, and the SOLE difference it made in real-life was making me reload more often when shooting cans and paper-plates. Does that make you feel safer? Me either.

Get your facts straight MoveOn.org! You have a valid, valuable message to get out, don’t cloud it with misleading BS like this! I’m very disappointed in you.
